A motorcyclist has been arrested after police located more than $1 million worth of the drug ice during a random intercept in Ashwood early this morning, Victoria Police say.
Oakleigh uniform members were patrolling along Power Avenue when they saw a man getting on a BMW motorbike about 3am.
They approached the rider, who allegedly took off on foot and threw a backpack in the front yard of a nearby home.
A search was conducted of the area, with assistance from Boroondara uniform members, and the 26-year-old man was arrested.
Police retrieved the backpack and located inside more than 5kg of the drug ice and nearly $1000.
Also a check of the motorcycle revealed it was allegedly stolen.
