$1 million set to support exhibitions to tour regional Australia

The 2021-22 National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach (NCITO) program is supporting tours to 24 venues across regional Australia and one exhibition overseas, including:

  • $94,207.50 for the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia to tour The Dressmaker Costume Exhibition, featuring costumes from the 2015 film The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet, Judy Davis, Liam Hemsworth and Hugo Weaving, to venues in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
  • $228,516 for the National Museum of Australia to tour three exhibitions, including Red Centre: Art from Australia, which will travel to the National Art Museum of China, Beijing.
  • $119,690 for the National Portrait Gallery of Australia to tour two exhibitions, including the the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2021 to Tasmania and Queensland.

The NCITO program provides Australian audiences with opportunities to access high quality cultural material from our national collections. Funding will also support regional and remote communities as they begin the process of recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

NCITO supports the Australian National Maritime Museum, Bundanon Trust, Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, National Archives of Australia, National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia, and the National Portrait Gallery of Australia to tour Australian and international cultural material to audiences around the country and to take Australian works overseas.
