1000 Doors will open on August 25

Art installation 1000 Doors - Door Within A Door will now open its maze-like portals to the Ballarat public from Wednesday 25 August until Sunday 3 October.

The opening has been pushed back due to the latest COVID-19 lockdown, with the installation in Armstrong Street South between the Ballarat Town Hall and Myer to run between the new dates.

1000 Doors - Door Within A Door was created by artists Christian Wagstaff and Keith Courtney, who were the masterminds behind the highly successful House of Mirrors, now located at MONA in Hobart.

Christian and Keith said many of the countless doors used in this installation have been sourced in Ballarat.

"A door is a beginning and an end, a promise and a warning. What waits on the other side is limited only by the imagination and decided only by an action. Step across the threshold of you," they said.

1000 Doors was sold out at the Melbourne International Arts Festival, the Brisbane Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
