A man has been seriously injured after a crash in the Blue Mountains.
About 3.25pm today (Friday 30 January 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a truck had crashed into a parked car in the east bound lanes of the Great Western Highway, Wentworth Falls.
Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command have been informed that the driver - a man aged in his 20's - of a white ute was stopped when he exited the vehicle.
The man and the car have been struck by a truck travelling east bound along the Great Western Highway.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
The male driver of the truck - aged in his 30's - was uninjured. He was taken to Katoomba Hospital for mandatory testing and later taken to Katoomba Police Station where inquiries are continuing.
A crime scene was established which is being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Traffic is flowing in both directions but delays are being experienced and motorist are urged to avoid the area as the crime scene is expected to remain in place for a considerable amount of time.
