14 Charged in Operation Enduro Scooter Heists

Fourteen people remain before the court as an operation continues targeting the alleged theft of mopeds in Sydney's north west and greater Sydney.

Officers attached to North West Metropolitan Region commenced Operation Enduro on Wednesday 12 November 2025 in response to a wave of mopeds, scooters and motorcycles allegedly being stolen and used to commit further crimes.

Throughout the operation, general duties officers from North West Metropolitan Region Police Area Commands have been supported by Region and specialist police including POLAIR.

Incidents of note:

  • About 4.30pm on Monday 24 November 2025, police were called to the intersection of Copeland and Parker Steet, Penrith, following reports of an alleged robbery.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were told about four people on mopeds allegedly pushed a food delivery driver off his scooter who was stationary at the intersection.

Police will allege two men tackled the rider off his bike, before stealing it.

The rider – a 26-year-old man – was not injured.

A short time later, police were patrolling in Cranebrook when they observed a group of mopeds travelling on Sherringham Road, before one rider was observed to crash into a traffic island.

The rider, a 16-year-old boy, was uninjured, arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, motor bike rider (alone) not wear/secure fit approved helmet, custody of knife in public place and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Monday 15 December 2025.

  • About 3.30am today (Wednesday 26 November 2025), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were patrolling the Plumpton area when they observed a moped travelling next to a black Mercedes sedan.

Police attempted to stop the sedan and moped on Jersey Road, Plumpton, however they both failed to stop as directed.

A pursuit was initiated through Mount Druitt, Dharruk, Emerton, Whalan, and Bidwill, before eventually coming to a stop on the Western Collector Road.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, and two passengers – both 15-year-old boys - were arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, knowingly drive vehicle in manner menaces other, and use etc offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention etc.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

The other boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and larceny.

All three were refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Wednesday 26 November 2025).

Following further inquiries, about 10am today (Wednesday 26 November 2025), police executed two search warrants at units on Magnolia Street North, St Marys, and on Haynes Street, Penrith.

During the St Marys search warrant, police allegedly located and seized a moped.

Throughout the operation, police have recovered 11 allegedly stolen mopeds.

As the operation continues, 14 boys and men aged between 13 and 22 have been charged with various offences and remain before the courts.
