$1.5 million worth of tobacco seized by Strike Force Raptor at Fairfield

An investigation is underway after Strike Force Raptor seized $1.5 million worth of tobacco in Sydney's south west earlier this week.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor executed a search warrant at an industrial unit on Fairfield Street, Fairfield, about 5pm on Tuesday (13 August 2019).

During the search, officers located 73 boxes containing tobacco with a total weight of nearly 1.5 tonnes.

The tobacco was seized for further analysis.

Inquiries are continuing, and no arrests have been made at this stage.

Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
