$15K jewellery theft using fraudulent card

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following the theft of $15,000 worth of jewellery in Melbourne last year.

Investigators have been told a male entered the store on Little Collins Street about 4.30pm on 30 December.

He selected a number of pieces of jewellery before paying for the items using a fraudulent credit card.

It was later reported to police that the card used to purchase the jewellery was fraudulent and police are now seeking to identify the male involved.

He is believed to be aged in his early 20s, with short curly dark hair with a medium build.

Detectives have released an image and CCTV of a man they believe will be able to assist with the investigation.
