19 candles, 30 days without a car

It’ll be a year to forget for a Pascoe Vale South teen after he was allegedly caught speeding more than 50km/h over the speed limit in North Keilor last night, Victoria Police say.

Police observed the P-Plater about 11.45pm on the Calder Freeway, near Organ Pipes Road, travelling at an alleged speed of 158km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Unluckily for the driver, he was just 15 minutes out from his 19th birthday, but instead of receiving a gift, he has handed his Mazda 3 keys over to police.

The man is expected to be charged on summons with traffic-related offences.
