In its sixth round, the program will deliver $1,010,688 in career-defining projects and support a range of international activities designed to expand global reach and strengthen long-term career sustainability.
The Export Development Fund is a matched funding initiative, designed to elevate emerging, breakthrough, and established acts into the international market, while fostering sustainable and thriving careers. The program focuses on three key pathways: Performance and Touring, Professional and Artistic Development and Market and Audience Development.
Since its launch, the Export Development Fund has backed more than 470 projects, highlighting the importance of a dedicated contemporary music export program in Australia.
Among the highlights of the 65 supported projects:
- Turkish Australian stage and screen composer Ayda Akbal will undertake an International Screen Music Mentorship in Los Angeles under Catherine Hoy, CEO & Founder of Joy Music House.
- ARIA-Award winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Mooney will travel to Brighton, UK to record her second album with renowned producer Marcus Hamblett.
- Indie-folk singer songwriter Rueben De Melo will return to India to undertake professional, artistic and market development across four key cities: Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Goa.
- Walmatjarri Elder, blues and gospel singer-songwriter, teacher, mentor, human rights advocate, and political activist Olive Knight (Kankawa Nagarra) will embark on her debut European tour with Mississippi Records.
- Australian indie darlings Ball Park Music are set to embark on their first European and UK tour in a decade, following their national support tour with Oasis across Australia.
- Genre-bending singer-songwriter Samuel Gaskin will travel to Aotearoa for a two-week songwriting residency and cultural exchange with Te Kura Huia and mentorship from Jen Cloher.
- Psychedelic surf-rock band Ocean Alley will undertake their first headline tour of Latin America, marking their debut in the region in support of their highly anticipated fifth album, Love Balloon.
Applications for the next round of the Export Development Fund close on Tuesday 16 September.
