2019 Bendigo TAFE Bendigo Easter Festival program out now

As the countdown to Easter begins, the new 2019 Bendigo TAFE Bendigo Easter Festival program is now available in hard copy and online, featuring fun-packed events and activities during the three day festival.

This year's festival runs from Good Friday April 19 to Easter Monday April 22 and will be extra special with the arrival of our new Golden Dragon Dai Gum Loong, who will join Golden Dragons Loong and Sun Loong and Night Dragon Yar Loong in the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade.

Festival favourites will return including the O'Brien Electrical Bendigo Torchlight Procession on Saturday night at 8pm with illuminated parade entries, finishing with a spectacular fireworks display in Rosalind Park. Carnival Central and live music will be held across the three days.

The Bare Bird Good Friday Main Stage in Rosalind Park will get the kids dancing, singing and laughing with performances from The Blurbs, Quirky Tales and Games Boy 18. The first-ever Battle of the Voice will see Bendigo's young talent compete for the top prize on Easter Sunday in Rosalind Park.

On Saturday, PJ Masks will be performing an energetic interactive session in Rosalind Park on the main stage. Learn what it takes to be a hero and be part of the PJ Masks team with Catboy, Owlette and Gekko in PJ Masks 'Meet the Heroes'. In this fun session, kids get the chance to sing, dance and perform the PJ Masks super power moves.

Vision Australia Easter Egg Hunt will have more than 170,000 eggs hidden in non-allergenic wood-wool in Rosalind Park for more than 3,000 children to find. A separate adult session will be held where participants will be blindfolded as they search for eggs. Booking is essential for the egg hunt.

Community groups will showcase their activities during the three day festival and the traditional Rotary Art and Craft market will be held on Good Friday and Easter Sunday with plenty of stalls, music and food.

The City of Greater Bendigo Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis said this year's festival was jam-packed with great events for the whole family.

"There is something for everyone so I encourage people to check out the new program so you can plan your days and not miss out on all of the great activities, music and entertainment," Mr Karamaloudis said.

Bendigo TAFE CEO Trevor Schwenke said Bendigo TAFE was proud to sponsor the 2019 Easter Festival.

"Bendigo is a great place to be at Easter so invite your friends and family and make the most of the wonderful events being held over the three day festival." Mr Schwenke said.
