2022 Boroondara Photograph Awards winners

On 31 May 2022, we gathered at the Hawthorn Town Hall Gallery to celebrate the winners of the sixth annual Boroondara Photograph Competition.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Wes Gault presented the awards and congratulated the winners. He said contemporary and historical photographs play an important role in preserving a record of Boroondara for the future.

We awarded the entries across 2 key categories - the Open Photograph Competition and the Young Photographers Competition.

Ian Spence won Best in Competition for his image, The Rivoli. Six-year-old, Leila Nader won first prize in the Young Photographers' Competition (Primary School) for her image, Sleepy Bird. Elisabeth Frank won first prize in the Open Photograph Competition (Historical Image taken 1955 to 1991) for her picture, Me and my dog.

The finalists of the 2022 competition are now on display as part of a stunning exhibition called Diverse Boroondara at the Town Hall Gallery. The exhibition will run until the 25 June 2022.
