2024 Tier 3 Scholarship Recipients Unveiled by Shooting Australia

The Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) is continuing its commitment to young athletes, awarding a further $40,000 in elite scholarships to 16 rising stars in the 2024 Scholarship and Mentoring Program. The Tier 3 scholarship group covers 16 sports, with each athlete receiving a grant of $2,500 plus support from SAHOF and its esteemed member base over the next 15 months.

Shooting Australia congratulates 17 year old Talia Woodroffe on her Tier 3 scholarship and being the sixth target shooting athlete since 2012 to be presented with the opportunity to be part of the Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

"Having the opportunity to be a successful SAHOF Scholarship recipient is a major achievement for me. Coming from a lesser-known sport, it gives me the opportunity to share my love for Pistol Shooting and provides me with assistance in overcoming financial hurdles in the future which will help assist my ability to reach my full potential as I grow as a young athlete balancing sport study, and life. I am very excited to see what my future with SAHOF entails." – Talia Woodroffe.

"So early in her Pistol Shooting career, Talia has already proven she is passionate and dedicated to her sport and demonstrating the commitment required to be a high performance athlete. At the young age of 17, Talia was this year selected as a member of the Australian Junior World Championship Team where she competed in her first international event alongside her teammates in Changwon, Korea. Talia will be the sixth target shooting athlete since 2012 to be presented with the opportunity to be part of the Scholarship and Mentoring Program. Living in regional Victoria, with a requirement to regularly travel to capital cities around Australia to train and compete, this program will provide Talia with additional resources to further engage in these domestic opportunities as she continues to develop as an athlete and pave her way in the sport. Shooting Australia fully supports Talia's development as an athlete and congratulates her on being awarded this opportunity through SAHOF. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Talia on her sporting journey."
