Corangamite Shire residents and community groups need to act quickly to make the most of Council's 2025-2025 grants programs. Applications close on Monday 26 May.

Residents are encouraged to call Council before preparing their application to make sure they apply for the appropriate program, tick all of the boxes, and have the best chance of success.

The Community Grants Program offers up to $2,000 to community groups operating in the Corangamite Shire for:

  • development of new community, leisure, cultural or recreational programs;
  • community projects, activities or events;
  • workshops, planning activities (e.g. business or project plan); or
  • purchase of equipment.

The Facility Grants Program offers up to $2,000 (on a dollar-for-dollar basis and in-kind) to Committees of Management and clubs or organisations whose primary function in the Shire is to help with facility improvements or equipment.

The Environment Support Grants Program offers up to $3,000 (on a dollar-for-dollar basis) for community groups, organisations and individuals to undertake environment and sustainability projects in the Shire. This could include projects related to climate change, sustainable agriculture and installation of energy and water-saving items at community facilities.

The Events and Festivals Grants Program (up to $7,000 inclusive of grant and in-kind for signature events and up to $3,000 inclusive of grant and in-kind for local events) supports bigger events that increase visitation and stimulate economic activity.

The Enabling Grants Program offers up to $5,000 to assist community groups to develop 'shovel-ready projects' which are properly planned and costed, and for which project funding can then be sought. These grants can pay for business case preparation, scoping, community consultation, plans and drawings, permits and approvals or engagement of professional grant-writing or other assistance to secure project funding.
