A snapshot of Australian cotton's practices and perspectives
The 2025 Cotton Grower Survey is now available, providing a snapshot of how Australian cotton growers are operating today and adapting to changing conditions and opportunities. The survey gathers insights into on-farm practices, seasonal conditions, and grower views on research, development and extension (RD&E) across the 2024-25 season.
Conducted annually, the survey helps CRDC understand the benefits of RD&E investment and identify priority areas for future research. Drawing on responses collected over more than 20 years, it enables the industry to track changes in practices and understand the adoption and impact of new approaches and technologies.
What the report covers
The report brings together grower insights across key areas, including farm and crop performance, water and energy management, soil health and nutrition, integrated pest management (IPM) and crop protection, workforce and skills, sustainability practices, and technology adoption. It also captures grower views on CRDC and CottonInfo, and feedback on the role and impact of RD&E in supporting improved farm performance.
Together, these findings highlight how cotton growers are responding to seasonal conditions, adopting new practices and technologies, and identifying emerging opportunities and priorities for continued research and industry support.
