Red Frogs Toowoomba today (Thursday, July 17, 2025) received a welcome funding boost from the proceeds of this year's Toowoomba Mayoral Prayer Breakfast that was held at Rumours in May.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Cr Geoff McDonald presented a ceremonial cheque for $9144.60 to Red Frogs Toowoomba coordinator Andre Henare at Toowoomba City Hall.
Mayor McDonald praised the work of the Toowoomba Red Frogs team that includes more than 100 volunteers who cover an area west from Ipswich that incorporates the Toowoomba Region and other western centres.
"The volunteers' primary focus is to ensure the wellbeing of young people in our community, via school education programs, boarding house and party support. They aid businesses via toolbox talks aimed at apprentice workers with random visits to deliver pancakes," Mayor McDonald said.
"The team members also offer weekly mental health support programs at universities and run hydration stations and offer wellbeing support at music and sports events.
"Apart from handing out their familiar namesake lollies, the Red Frogs offer positive peer role model information.
