2025/26 U17 Male Emerging Metro and Country Squads Announced

Cricket Victoria is thrilled to unveil its U17 Male Emerging Metro and County Squads for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

The next generation of Victorian male stars have been identified out of CV's key U16 pathway competitions including the Country Cup, and from their performances with their Premier Cricket Clubs in the Dowling Shield.

Working directly with Cricket Victoria's High Performance staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches, the program will introduce players to key themes around what it takes to be a professional cricketer.

"The opportunity for players to work closely with Cricket Victoria's High-Performance staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches is a vital step in players' development, ensuring they gain a deeper understanding of the technical, tactical, physical and mental demands required to progress toward professional cricket," said Cricket Victoria Male Talent Development Manager, Tom Evans.

Victoria's U17 Squads will be led by former Australian representative and premiership winning coach, Julien Wiener, with Shane Koop, and experienced Premier Cricket coaches Shannon Young and Dan Hutton.

The Emerging U17 program will commence with the program introduction on 29th June at the CitiPower Centre and will run from July through to the Cricket Australia National Championships in January 2026.
