21-year-old South Australia man charged with child abuse offence

The South Australia Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (SA-JACET) has charged a 21-year-old man with allegedly possessing child abuse material. He has been granted bail to appear in Whyalla Magistrates Court on 23 December 2019.

The SA-JACET is a partnership between South Australia Police Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police.

Members of the SA-JACET arrested the man from the Eyre Peninsula yesterday (4 November 2019) and charged him with one count of possession of child exploitation material, contrary to section 63A of the Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935 (SA).

The maximum penalty for this offence is five years imprisonment.
