$2M Boost For Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

The Australian Government is investing $2 million to support the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital in delivering life‑saving care to sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife on the NSW North Coast.

The funding will help:

  • treat and rehabilitate around 4,000 animals
  • support the operations of the hospital
  • keep skilled veterinarians and veterinary nurses employed
  • provide quality care for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

The hospital is a registered business of Wildlife Recovery Australia. Since 2020, the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital has delivered quality care to more than 10,000 wildlife patients.

This project is part of the Local Environmental Projects Program. The program is helping protect and improve our environment and heritage.
