An investigation is underway following an armed robbery in Sydney's CBD this morning.
Officers were called to a hotel on Little Pier Street at Haymarket about 5.40am (Monday 2 February 2026), after being told two men had threatened staff before stealing a safe.
Police have been told one of the men was armed with a firearm; however, there have been no injuries reported.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is now underway by detectives attached to Sydney City Police Area Command.
Police have released descriptions of two men they believe can assist with investigations.
The first man is described only as wearing a grey jumper and grey track suit pants. The second man man is descrbed as wearing dark-coloured jumper and tracksuit pants. Both had their faces covered.
It's believed they are driving a 2013-model Volvo station wagon described as 'beige' in colour, with NSW registration CJZ 08Z. The vehicle was reported stolen from Petersham on 23 January 2026.
If seen police warn the public do not approach as these men were reported to have a firearm. If sighted, call Triple Zero (000).
