$375,000 Up For Grabs In 2026 Community Grants Round

Local community groups, not for profits and social enterprises can now apply for a share of $375,000 with the City of Parramatta 2026 Annual Community Grants Program's Community Round.

Council's Annual Community Grants Program distributes funding across two rounds each financial year. The first round opened this month, providing the community an opportunity to access $375,000 in funding for local initiatives.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said Council is proud to support local people with big ideas to help make the City great.

"A strong local community is the base for creating the best place to live, work and play and our Annual Community Grants are key to helping local community groups service our area," Cr Zaiter said.

"With locals helping shape a more vibrant, connected and inclusive Parramatta, these grants are a fantastic opportunity to bring those ideas to life."

The Community Round includes three key grant categories with applications closing on 15 September:

  • Community Capacity Building Grant - $245,000: supports community groups, sport and recreation clubs, and service organisations to deliver inclusive and sustainable projects that address local social, economic and environmental needs. Funded projects are expected to increase access to services and facilities, reduce social isolation and encourage partnerships and participation across the community.
  • Growing Social Enterprise in Parramatta Grant - $80,000: provides support for established social enterprises to grow their presence in the Parramatta LGA. This may include funding specific growth activities, relocating to the area or launching new programs that operate locally on an ongoing basis.
  • Community Event Grant (Round 1) - $50,000: assists with the delivery of free or low-cost events that provide cultural, social or recreational value to Parramatta residents. Funded events are expected to attract new audiences and complement the existing local events calendar.

The Community Round is part of the broader 2025/26 Community Grants Program, which totals $725,000 in funding available across the 2025-26 financial year, including the Community and Cultural rounds, Quarterly Grants Program and Representative Sports Grants Program.

Successful grant recipients will be announced around December this year or early January.
