Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after multiple Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) vehicles were broken into at a facility in Aberfeldie on Wednesday morning.
The VICSES vehicles were parked inside the VICSES Essendon Unit facility on Rutherford Street when they were broken into on 25 February about 1am.
Four unknown masked offenders arrived in a vehicle before jumping a fence into the facility.
The offenders used tools to force entry into the equipment storage at the rear of the vehicles and stole equipment including chainsaws, power tools, harness equipment and radios.
The offenders left the scene at about 1.10am before two of them returned at about 2.30am and stole more tools.
It is estimated the equipment is valued at over $40,000 and is integral for their volunteers when responding to flood and storm events and other emergency incidents.
