$48 Million In Safety Upgrades For Victorian Roads

Funded projects address safety concerns raised by local communities across 60 Victorian locations.

The Australian Government has committed $48 million in funding for road safety upgrades across 60 Victorian locations under the 2026-27 Black Spot program.

The upgrades include the installation of safety barriers, lighting improvements, warning signs and shoulder sealing, as well as resurfacing works to improve skid resistance at critical locations where several serious crashes have occurred or are at risk of occurring.

The projects were recommended by the Victoria Black Spot Consultative Panel, which comprises of local stakeholders to ensure nominations of the highest priority to the local community are recommended for approval.

Anyone can nominate a black spot for consideration, including individuals, community groups and local councils.
