$50,000 reward offered for information leading to arrest of Kerry Whiting

Police have this afternoon offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of 44-year-old Kerry Whiting.

"Now into our sixth day of searching for Kerry Whiting, we believe that someone may have vital information that could lead to the location and arrest of Kerry," said Commander Stuart Wilkinson.

"We strongly believe there may be a person, or people, who are harbouring or assisting Kerry and I urge anyone who knows anything about Kerry's whereabouts to come forward."

Commander Wilkinson said rewards are an important investigative tool that may entice people with crucial information to come forward and provide information to police.

"$50,000 is a life-changing amount of money that we believe could entice a person to change their allegiances and be the motivation they need to come forward.

"Information can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers. They don't need your name or personal details, just the information you can provide. If you provide information anonymously which leads to Kerry's arrest you may still be eligible for the reward.

"The reward will not be payable to anyone involved in the commission of the crime or associated crimes."

Extensive police searches have been undertaken over the past six days and will continue until Kerry is located.

Anyone who sees Kerry is urged not to approach him but instead ring police immediately on Triple Zero (000).

Information can be provided direct to police on 131 444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers online at crimestopperstas.com.au or on 1800 333 000.
