More than 30,000 Queensland students have already benefited from vital mental health education through LIVIN's school program, thanks to a partnership with The Lott that has now contributed more than half a million dollars over three years.
This year, The Lott by Golden Casket is providing another $200,000 from Golden Casket unclaimed prize money, to help LIVIN deliver its LIVINWell School Program to more than 10,000 additional students across Queensland.
The milestone marks three years of support for the youth mental health organisation, helping young people develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to better understand their mental wellbeing and support those around them.
Mental health affects one in five Australians each year, yet too many young people still struggle in silence.
That's why LIVIN is working to break down stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health, helping ensure young Australians know that seeking support is a sign of strength.
Founded in memory of Dwayne Lally, LIVIN was created after his tragic loss to suicide. In the years since, the organisation has become a leading force in youth mental health education, empowering young people with the tools to look after themselves and one another.
LIVIN Co-founder, Casey Lyons, said the generosity of the community continues to make a real difference.
"Support from partners like The Lott helps us continue delivering vital mental health education to young Australians," he said.
"This donation will help us reach even more young people with the tools, knowledge and confidence to support their own wellbeing and look out for those around them. We're incredibly grateful for the ongoing support.
The Lott Senior Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said this partnership shows the importance of long-term investment.
"Over the past three years, our partnership with LIVIN has helped bring important mental health conversations to more than 30,000 students across Queensland," she said.
"We're incredibly proud that our support has now exceeded half a million dollars, but what matters most is the impact behind that figure.
"Every student reached through the LIVINWell School Program is another young person who feels more confident talking about mental health, seeking support when they need it and looking out for their friends.
"With this year's donation, we're excited to help LIVIN reach thousands more students and continue creating lasting impact in communities across Australia."
