The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games are set to begin on 23 July, with the start of the Paralympic Games to be celebrated on 24 August with sporting events to be held right throughout Queensland.

Queensland landmarks will be lit up in green and gold tonight to celebrate the milestone and hundreds of students today joined Olympic and Paralympic athletes at Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds, one of the venues set to be revitalised ahead of the Games.

After 1,200 days of Labor chaos, the Crisafulli Government is delivering for 2032 and beyond.

In the 121 days since the 2032 Delivery Plan was released the Crisafulli Government has passed landmark planning laws for the Games, procurement has started for key Games venues and site investigations at Victoria Park and National Aquatic Centre have commenced.

Today it has been revealed Simon Crooks has been appointed CEO of the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority and expressions of interest for the master planning for the Games precinct at Victoria Park is opened.

The new streamlined Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee Board will meet for the first time on July 24.

The $250 million Games On! program is also delivering for Queensland grassroots sports and 36 clubs across the state have signed funding execution agreements.

Premier David Crisafulli said the Government remained focused on delivering for 2032 and beyond, for all of Queensland.

"We are delivering for 2032 and beyond with the venues, accommodation and transport infrastructure that will benefit Queenslanders for generations to come," Premier Crisafulli said.

"We are seven years out from Queensland's golden opportunity on the world stage to drive a tourism legacy, deliver generational infrastructure to connect Queensland, and deliver the greatest show on earth."

Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie said the Government remained firmly on track with its 2032 Delivery Plan.

"We've kickstarted the delivery of 2032 Games infrastructure, with venue procurement and site investigations now underway in Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Cairns," Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

"We're also delivering the roads, rail and infrastructure to support the delivery of these legacy venues, creating a more connected Queensland for 2032 and beyond."

Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said Queenslanders had embraced the spirit of the Games.

"We're embarking on the most exciting seven years in Queensland's history," Minister Mander said.

"We know the Games have the power to inspire people to live healthier, more active lives and to connect more deeply with their communities.

"We're investing in grassroots clubs right across Queensland through our Games On! infrastructure program, we're building a legacy of participation, pride and connection and we're cementing Queensland's place as Australia's sporting capital."

Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee President Andrew Liveris reaffirmed Minister Mander's excitement, confirming that with seven years to go, Brisbane 2032 was shifting from planning to implementation phase.

"Our strategy, Games Plan, governance and base team are in place and have been emphatically endorsed by the International Olympic Committee, International Paralympic Committee and International Federations during recent trips," Mr Liveris said.

"The next 12 – 18 months will see our Games Vision and Emblems revealed, sports program confirmed, sustainability strategy in place, procurement, and commercial opportunities in market, and much more.

"I look forward to meeting with the Board later this week while finalising our supporting Advisory Groups that together, will drive our progress and success."

Australian Olympic Committee President Ian Chesterman said the seven years to go milestone brought the opportunities of a home Games into sharp focus.

"As we move even closer to Brisbane 2032 the excitement builds for young athletes who are dreaming that they will be part of the Australian Olympic Team marching into the Opening Ceremony, now just seven years away," Mr Chesterman said.

"We stand before a remarkable generational opportunity to unite and inspire Australians, and to supercharge Olympic sport from grassroots to elite competition, bringing widespread health and social benefits – a healthier, happier nation.

"There is a real sense of optimism and momentum towards Brisbane 2032, to work together towards a successful Australian Olympic Team, an incredible Games and a legacy that inspires our communities for generations to come."
