70 extra services, stops doubled for Pimpama bus route

Times are changing for the route 722 Pimpama bus from Coomera to Ormeau, with 73 additional weekly services to hit the ground running from Monday, February 18.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said with the region’s growing population, the Palaszczuk Government had doubled the number of bus stops and was delivering additional services every week on the route 722 bus.

"We’ve listened to the feedback from passengers and boosted the frequency of services, and extended the route to meet local demand," Mr Bailey said.

"The number of bus stops has been doubled with an extra 1685 potential passengers now living within 400 metres of a stop for the 722 bus."

Timetable changes from Monday, February 18 include:

  • Weekday services start an hour earlier from 6:30am until 7pm
  • Weekend services start at 7:30am until 6:30pm

Changes to the route of the 722 bus include extending services to Dixon Drive, William Boulevard, and Cunningham Drive North.

"The extra stops and additional 73 services every week will mean the 722 bus will run hourly - instead of every two hours - on weekdays and weekends with connections to the train north to Brisbane and south to Varsity Lakes," Mr Bailey said.

"It’s part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to maintaining an efficient, integrated and accessible public transport network for a growing Gold Coast."
