77% of residents happy with Council's Performance

Kempsey Shire Council

We are delighted to share with you the results of the 2023 Community Satisfaction Survey, a comprehensive assessment conducted every two years to gauge our community's overall satisfaction with Kempsey Shire Council.

Despite the significant challenges we have faced over the past two years, including COVID-19, natural disasters, rising living costs, and skill shortages, we are pleased to say that our community's satisfaction with Council has remained stable.

An impressive 77% of residents expressed their satisfaction with Council's performance over the last 12 months. The achievement is a testament to our dedicated team and their commitment to serving our community,

The survey, conducted by market research agency Micromex, combined both phone survey and online results and provided invaluable insights into the key drivers of community satisfaction and shed light on priority areas for improvement and investment.

The survey revealed that our residents highly value Council's financial management, provision of timely information, flood management strategies, and the maintenance of our vital road network. It is heartening to note that 17 out of 35 services and facilities included in the research received a community satisfaction rating of 80% or higher. These results exemplify the progress we have made in delivering services that meet our community's expectations.

Looking ahead, the survey clearly indicate that our residents desire continued investment in various critical areas. Over half of the respondents emphasised the need for more resources in roads, bridges, and transport; stormwater and drainage; strategic land use planning; natural resource management; communications and engagement; economic development; financial management; and sustainability. We have taken note of these priorities and are committed to addressing them in our future plans and strategies.

We thank all the residents who participated in the survey, as your valuable feedback has helped shaped the future of Kempsey Shire.

A summary of the survey results will be made available on the Your Say Macleay website, and we encourage you to visit and stay informed.

Kempsey Shire Council remains dedicated to serving our community and striving for continuous improvement. Together, we will build a vibrant and prosperous region for all.
