80th Anniversary: Pacific War End Honored at Shrine

Four Victorian school students will take on the roles of four Australian Service personnel, to tell each veteran's personal story of service with Navy, Air Force and Army, including Women who Served on the Home Front, during 'War in the Pacific'. Each story approx. 1min. dur.

The 3 September, 'Battle for Australia' commemoration, is an annual event that marks the end of 'War in the Pacific'. It's a National Day of Commemoration.

More than 700 school students are expected to attend the Shrine in the company of Navy Band, military veterans – Keynote Speaker Hon Ted Baillieu AO former Vic. Premier – Guest of Honour Brigadier John-Paul Ouvrier AM.

Background: Student presentations from the dark and desperate 'War in the Pacific' years 1942-1945 – Australians and the Nation's allies fought selfless fierce land, air and sea battles – thousands of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice.
