96-year-old man knocked over on Queenscliffe street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man, aged in his 90s, was clipped by a car on a Queenscliffe Street earlier today, Victoria Police say.

The 96-year-old Queenscliffe man was walking along Stevens Street, near the Holy Trinity Church, around midday when a car reportedly hit the man, causing him to fall to the roadway.

The man was conveyed to hospital with a suspected broken hip.

Investigators believe the collision was of a minor nature with the driver possibly not being aware that it had happened.

Witnesses have told police that they saw a small orange car in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
