A fresh face for libraries

Hume City Council has launched the new Hume Libraries website, designed to help customers to connect (and reconnect) with library services.

The uptake in digital library services during COVID-19 demonstrated the need for the new site, which has become just as important as a physical library branch for accessing services such as:

  • eBooks and eAudiobook
  • eMagazines and eNewspapers
  • eLearning resources
  • Streaming services
  • Family history resources, and more.

Built from the ground-up, the Hume Libraries website has been designed to give a great experience on mobile phones and tablets.

Colourful icons, a fresh design and improved search also make for a more eye-catching and consistent user experience.

Functionality such as Eventbrite has also been built in, allowing users to book events directly from the site. The site can also translate content in up to 20 community languages to cater for our diverse community.

The new website is complimented by the existing Hume Libraries App which offers a fully integrated library experience from your phone allowing users to catalogue search, reserve, renew or check-out, management memberships, event booking and more all using a digital barcode instead of a library card.
