A new online application process has been introduced for residents requiring Accessible Parking Permits (APP).
From 22 March 2021, the state Government has created a new online application service for those residents and organisations who require a new permit or need to renew or replace a permit.
Community Safety Portfolio Holder, Cr Susan McIntyre, said the new APP Scheme will streamline the application process, making it easier, simpler and more consistent across the state.
"Multiple improvements have been made to the permit scheme which will help residents," Cr McIntyre said.
"Improvements to the scheme include the introduction of temporary permits for 6, 12 or 24 months, increased permit length, from 3 years to 5 years for individuals and the introduction of a permanent disability classification, so reassessments are not required for some people's future permit renewals."
"Double Time (green permits) will continue under the new scheme. These permits allow people with limited mobility additional time to park for double the time in a regular parking space."
