A new fridge for iCARE Kempsey to help more people in need

Kempsey Shire Council

iCARE Kempsey Community Grant

iCARE Kempsey will be helping more local people in need thanks to funding from Council's 2020-21 Community Grant Program.

The group were successful in obtaining a Mayoral Community Grant, part of Council's Community Grants Program that allowed them to purchase a commercial refrigerator to keep more food fresh and increase their capacity to accept and distribute food items.

"The fridge has transformed how we pack and distribute food to the people who most need it," said Team Leader from iCARE Kempsey Moira Hodgekiss.

"Thank you, Kempsey Shire Council, for helping us support our local community."

iCARE Kempsey is an initiative of My Church Kempsey and a local community organisation that delivers food hampers, clothing and furniture to local people experiencing difficulty. It is run by volunteers and relies on donations which they then distribute across the community.
