Stanwell Park's beachside kiosk could soon have a new operator with Council calling for a "savvy and knowledgeable food operator" to run the sought-after business.
The kiosk has operated in the Stanwell Park Recreation Area for about 50 years, with the current building undergoing a major refurbishment only a few years ago.
"This is a very exciting opportunity for a smart food operator who is looking to make their mark in a popular and busy area,'' Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
"Stanwell Park is well-loved by locals and by visitors to the area. We're looking for a business operator that will provide a community-focussed operation that meets the needs of those in the local area, while also offering something exciting and of interest to daytrippers and tourists.''
The tender is open through Council's website until 10am 16 March 2021, with the successful proponent anticipated to be up and running the business by mid-year.
