A night to remember

Wodonga's night of nights for young people was full of glitz and glamour as the RED Carpet Youth Awards were announced across ten categories.

Wodonga Council's youth team described the event as an inspirational night.

"The event recognises the positive contributions of our young people and the difference they make to our community," Youth Development Officer Scott Bates said.

"It's a showcase of the achievements, talents and resilience of our young people."

Wodonga Council wishes to thank the award sponsors including our major sponsor, Albury Wodonga Community College, who all contributed to making the night a success.

A special mention and thank you goes to the RED Carpet Youth Committee - Atosha Birongo, Aleisha Griffin, Holly Smith, Jacob Moffat, Jordan Ross and Teaghan Keen - who are a mix of year 11 and 12 students who committed time and effort into making sure the event got off the ground and was a success.

The youth committee had been meeting on a regular basis since January.

Highlights of the night included artwork on display in the foyer, which was produced by finalists in the visual arts and media award category, as well as performances by finalists in the music and performing arts award category.
