During July, Silkari Suites at Chatswood are proud to be supporting the Pyjama Foundation, which assists children in foster care. Sadly, in NSW there are over 19,000 children whose early years have been filled with neglect, violence and trauma. As a result, these children are at far greater risk of poor educational outcomes than other children; statistics show that, without intervention, 75% of kids in care will not complete school. The Pyjama Foundation trains volunteer ‘Pyjama Angels’ who visit the same child every week, to read books together, play educational games and work alongside foster carers to build the child’s confidence by showing they care.

To support the foundation, we are asking guests and staff to support us in helping make a difference.
