AATIS a proud partner of National Careers Week

Next week is Nationals Careers Week, with thanks to the Careers Industry Council or Australia (CICA).

National Careers Week, now in its second year, celebrates careers, career development and career development practitioners and to promote the economic, social and personal benefits of career development. And this year, it is happening entirely online.

David Carney, Executive Director of CICA, knows all too well how useful an event that brings the industry together can be.

"It's an opportunity for anyone working in the career development area to showcase what they're doing, and it gives industry an opportunity to showcase their industry and what new and emerging roles now exist," he said.

The event, running from Monday 18 May to Sunday 24 May 2020, will share free resources and online events for career practitioners, teachers, parents and job seekers.

"There is something available for everyone, not just for schools but for every Australian," he said, "You can really get from these events what you want."

"Go to the National Careers Week website, click on the events tab, see what's running and register for the free events you want to get involved in. There are also great resources available for job hunters."

Speakers from all across the world will be hosting webinars discussing topics helping Australian's find the best pathway into their career.

"There's also going to be some really great new information that is going to be discussed, for both career practitioners and the general public."

It is also very timely, given the economic downturn due to Covid-19 and the decline in Apprenticeship commencements.

"At the end of it, what we want is to have highlighted that we are in difficult times at the moment… but we have to start looking at where are some of the silver linings… and we have a choice to rise from this situation and use what we've learnt to reengage as soon as possible," he said.

AATIS will also be launching our Schools Guide to Australian Apprenticeships via a webinar. Please note that this webinar is currently at capacity, however it will be available after the launch.
