Reflecting current events and future trends, ABARES has announced 'Global uncertainty, local challenges' as the theme for next year's annual Outlook conference.
As the Australian agriculture sector's premier agenda-setting event, Outlook 2023 will be held in Canberra from 7-8 March after two years online.
Executive Director of ABARES Jared Greenville said the conference will bring together delegates from across Australia and overseas.
"The return of the physical format will be an opportunity for us to re-connect with our stakeholders and explore the key themes in detail and in person," Dr Greenville said.
"Outlook 2023 will offer informed and expert insight for our producers, industry and government partners as they navigate these uncertain times."
This includes thought-provoking speakers and chairs across 12 sessions on a range of industry issues including the global and national economic context, the evolving international trade landscape and key commodities updates.
The conference will explore international and domestic emissions policy over the long term, while ensuring agriculture remains competitive and sustainable.
There will also be a session on the agricultural labour market's immediate challenges including attracting and retaining workers and workforce upskilling.

"The ABARES Outlook conference has a proud history of over 50 years as the primary agenda-setting event on the agricultural calendar.
"Outlook 2023 will attract delegates from state and federal government departments and agencies, universities, farmers, banking and finance, industry representative bodies and many others.
