Abduction, armed robbery at , QLD

Police are investigating the alleged robbery and abduction of a man from outside a hospital at Benowa in the early hours of this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 3.30am a 25-year-old man was standing outside the hospital at Allchurch Street when he was assaulted by a number of males wearing balaclavas and armed with knives and a handgun.

He was allegedly forced into the boot of his own vehicle and driven to an ATM at Parklands Drive at Parkwood where he was made to withdraw a sum of money.

The man was placed back into the boot of his car.  Around 4.20am this vehicle crashed into a fence at Kurrambee Avenue at Ashmore where the offenders fled the vehicle.

The man was located in the boot of the car by neighbours in the area.  He was transported to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Around 4.45am police were called to a crash at Ashmore Road at Ashmore where a vehicle had rolled.  Knives were located in the vehicle.

A male was located a short distance from this vehicle in Mingaletta Drive at Ashmore.  He is assisting police with their investigations into the incidents.

Police are continuing to search for the other occupants of this vehicle.
