ABS encouraging everyone to complete their Census: Australia

With just one day to go before Census night, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is reminding everyone that they can complete their Census early.

The ABS estimates it has received 2,388,009 forms in the 2021 Census as of Monday 9 August at 8.00am.

This tally is up from the 1,023,561 Census forms received on 4 August.

Today's tally is based on forms submitted online through the Census Digital Service 2,347,798 and paper forms received by the ABS 40,211.

The tally for each state and territory is available in the table below.

Andrew Henderson, Census Executive Director and National Spokesperson said, "Thanks to everyone who has already completed early. We're encouraging everyone who hasn't yet completed their Census to take the opportunity to complete it today as soon as you can."

The Census form tally below includes household online and paper forms received by the ABS as of Monday 9 August. The rate at which forms are received will differ across states and territories due to the different levels of paper forms provided across Australia and different delivery timeframes.
