The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is recruiting for the 2026 Census.
The next Census will take place on Tuesday 11 August 2026, and we are hiring over 16,000 Field Officers across Australia.
There are Field Officer roles available in your area and in most parts of the country.
Field Officers are the local face of the Census. They deliver Census letters and forms, assist the public with questions, and follow up with households that have not yet responded.
Applications open from 20 April 2026.
To be considered in the first round, we encourage you to apply by 18 May 2026.
