The Department of Human Services' Maroubra Service Centre will move to Westfield Eastgardens Shopping Centre on 2 September 2019.
The service centre will also be renamed Eastgardens Service Centre to align with its new location.
The new site is located at Shop 230/33 Westfield Eastgardens, 152 Bunnerong Road, and is
1.3 kilometres from the current Maroubra site.
Department of Human Services General Manager Hank Jongen said the community will be able to access the same Centrelink and Medicare services from a more central and easy-to-access location.
"This relocation will give the local community easier access to government services," Mr Jongen said.
"I can assure the community the move will have no impact on our face-to-face services in this area. The same staff will be providing the same services, just from a new location."
The move to Westfield Eastgardens provides better access to public transport, with a bus interchange located at the shopping centre.
The shopping centre also offers plenty of on-site parking, which is free for three hours.
Providing high quality services to the community is a priority, and this move will provide better access to these services for local residents.
