Accessible toilet closure during Kyneton Library upgrade

The accessible toilet beside Kyneton Library will be temporarily closed for two weeks as works continue on upgrading and revamping the library and surrounding area.

The toilet will be closed from 15 October to 29 October inclusive. The male and female toilets which are located alongside the accessible toilet will remain open during this time. The nearest accessible toilet to the library is located at 1 Hutton Street.

The library upgrade project is a partnership between Council, Goldfields Library Corporation and the Victorian Government. The Victorian Government is contributing $150,000 to the works as part of its Living Libraries Infrastructure Program, with Council providing $100,000.

The upgrade works to the library include a new entrance and roof. Improvements to staff areas in the library, which was funded in Council's 2018/19 budget, are being completed at the same time as the upgrade works.

The four libraries in the shire – Kyneton, Woodend, Gisborne and Romsey – are managed by Goldfields Library Corporation on behalf of Council.
