The ACT Ambulance Service has launched its latest training capability, an immersive simulation environment, designed to better prepare paramedics for the realities of frontline response.
A key focus of the capability is preparing paramedics to recognise, assess and respond to occupational violence and aggression. Through realistic simulations, staff can develop situational awareness and decision-making skills before encountering similar situations in the field. The launch comes as occupational violence continues to be a growing challenge for ambulance services across the nation.
The Blended Learning Interactive Simulation Suite (BLISS) transforms a traditional classroom into an interactive 270-degree training environment. It combines projection technology and dynamic learning experiences to recreate realistic scenarios that paramedics would face daily, in a controlled setting.
Beyond frontline training, BLISS will also support recovery and return-to-work pathways, providing a safe environment for paramedics to rebuild confidence and refresh operational skills following injury or other workplace challenges.
