Additional Charge Laid After Fatal Crash - Ingleburn

A further charge has been laid following a fatal crash in Sydney's southwest last year.

Shortly after 10.30pm on Wednesday 13 November 2024, emergency services were called to the Hume Motorway, at Ingleburn, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and found a utility and truck had collided.

The passenger of the utility – a 37-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

The driver – a 47-year-old man – was trapped for a short time before he was released and taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The truck driver – a 36-year-old man – was not injured.

The driver of the utility was charged last November 2024 with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death – speed more than 45 over limit and aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death – influence drug or drugs.

Following further investigations, that driver was yesterday (Monday 16 June 2025), charged with an additional charge of manslaughter.

He will next appear before Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 18 June 2025).
