Adelaide's Atira Wins National Excellence Award

Hindmarsh Construction Australia (SA)has taken home one of the building and construction industry's most prestigious honours, a Master Builders Australia National Excellence Award.

The Adelaide-based building firm won the Cbus National Medium Density over 5 Dwellings Award for Atira BlueSky Student Accommodation at the National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards in Adelaide on the weekend.

'Atira' is a 16-level building in Adelaide's CBD comprising of 397 purpose-built student accommodation rooms. It includes a reception, office and multiple breakout areas including communal dining, living and study areas, games rooms, a theatre and café.

Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia said "the BlueSky Student Accommodation project is unique in that it provides students with much more than just a place to live."

"The team at Hindmarsh pride themselves on producing a very high standard of quality on all projects and the BlueSky Student Accommodation project was no exception. It is at the forefront of student accommodation facilities around the world including an array of facilities for its tenants," Denita Wawn said.

"Hindmarsh Construction carried out difficult precast work and the internal finishes, as well as the builder's involvement in a lengthy and detailed Value Management process, is a credit to them," she said.

"A 50% occupation rate of the building only three weeks after completion meant that the client satisfaction on this project was also very high. Hindmarsh Construction are more than deserving winners of this award," Denita Wawn said.
