Central Goldfields Shire Council has entered into a 21-year lease with the Maryborough Aero Club at the Maryborough Aerodrome.

Council has agreed to enter into the long-term lease with the club for use of two sites at the aerodrome for $104 per annum.

The long-term lease provides security of tenure and defines clear obligations and responsibilities for Council and the aero club.

Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said the lease is a positive outcome for both organisations.

"By entering into a 21-year lease with Council at the Maryborough Aerodrome, the Maryborough Aero Club's future is secure.

"The Aero Club provides a much-needed service to the community and Council is pleased to support them."
