The Australian Federal Police (AFP) led ThinkUKnow program continues to deliver online child safety education and awareness presentations to schools and organisations, with a record 220,000 students reached during 2018-19.

The ThinkUKnow Corporate Report 2018-19 released today highlights efforts made by law enforcement and industry volunteers delivering the online child safety program to the Australian community.

Assistant Commissioner Crime Operations Debbie Platz congratulated volunteers and presenters on the continued growth of the program.

"It has been a busy year for the ThinkUKnow program which continues to reach large numbers of Australians, delivering important online safety information with the ultimate aim of keeping our children safe," Assistant Commissioner Platz said.

"These achievements would not be possible without the hard work and dedication our ThinkUKnow program partners including industry volunteers and State and Territory police, who dedicate countless hours to educating parents, carers, teachers and students about online safety."

Highlights from the ThinkUKnow Corporate Report 2018-19 include:

  • 732 presentations delivered to over 16,000 parents, carers and teachers by law enforcement and industry volunteers.
  • 2,814 presentations delivered to more than 222,000 students across Australia by state and territory police presenters.
  • Participation in several social media campaigns, including Safer Internet Day, Stay Smart Online Week, National Child Protection Week and Do It For Dolly.
  • Almost 500 industry and law enforcement presenters and volunteers trained as part of the national training rollout.
