AgForce Policy Committees Open for Nominations

AgForce is seeking representatives to sit on our vital Policy Committees who can discuss, analyse and recommend industry-relevant policy solutions and positions to our AgForce Board. Committees help make sure AgForce policy, networking, initiatives and advocacy are effective in dealing with existing and emerging issues and influential in advancing industry interests. We're seeking experienced, enthusiastic and creative thinkers who can work together with others to consider ideas and develop new and sustainable solutions to important industry challenges. The Board-endorsed Policy Committees are:

☣️ Biosecurity

Policy and advocacy related to animal and plant biosecurity measures, including invasive

plants and animals

🚜 Land Use Protection

Policy and advocacy to champion landholder rights and protections

🌳 Vegetation Management

Policy and advocacy to reshape the state's vegetation management framework

🌍 Sustainability

Policy and advocacy to advance conversations around sustainable farming, promoting

accuracy and consistency in measuring sustainability across diverse agricultural

enterprises

Committee membership is for 2 years, unless otherwise determined by the Board. The Committees' tenure is Financial Years 2026 - 2027. In nominating as a representative on an AgForce Policy Committee, you understand and agree that:

  1. Your key role is to provide input to the Board on, and alternatives to, policies proposed.
  2. You will be required to attend teleconferences - usually approximately 1 to 2 hours in duration with meeting frequency dependent on developments in the relevant policy area.
  3. You will be required to attend any face-to-face Committee meetings and maybe other local forums or meetings in other areas - likely to be at least 1 per year and with all approved travel costs paid for by AgForce.
  4. You must be able to demonstrate you have links with, and can communicate with, stakeholders at a local level and a commitment to share information and receive feedback on policy through these networks.
  5. You must seek to represent the wider views of broadacre agriculture rather than your own personal views and objectives.
  6. Be aware that at times, you might be called on by AgForce to speak to the media and/or provide examples that can be used to reinforce policy in the media and/or submissions.
  7. Have a demonstrated interest in and understanding of the subject matter the Committee is dealing with and contribute constructively, including consistent meeting attendance.
  8. All committee positions are unpaid.
