AIMS is one of the first Australian research agencies to achieve the internationally-recognised CoreTrustSeal certification as a trusted data repository.
CoreTrustSeal is a community based, non-governmental, and non-profit organisation promoting sustainable and trustworthy data infrastructure.
Our data repository is pivotal in collecting, storing, and making data available for research, both within AIMS and externally, over the long term.
Through a rigorous peer review process, AIMS joins an international community promoting 'FAIR' data principles (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability) in trustworthy digital repositories with sustainable governance, reliable infrastructure and policies supporting community-agreed practices.
Data Science and Research Services Director Dr Kameron Christopher said as guardians of Australia's tropical marine research data, AIMS achieving CoreTrustSeal certification strengthened research proposals and partnerships that harnessed AIMS data.
