Air Wing recovers body of man after boat overturns

The police Air Wing has recovered the body of a man after his tinnie capsized in waters off Woodside overnight.

Police have been told the man, a woman and a teenage boy were all thrown into the water in the vicinity of Jack Smith Beach Road in Darriman in the early hours of this morning.

The woman and teen were able to make it to shore however the man could not be found.

The pair raised the alarm before local police and the Air Wing responded.

Air Wing officers located the missing man unresponsive in waters off McLoughlins Beach.

The 42-year-old man was sadly not able to be revived.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
